Overview
FarmEye (ফার্মআই), under Nexiot Labs, is an industrial IoT and precision livestock management platform for commercial Broiler and Layer poultry farms. It connects environmental sensors and an eight-channel relay bank to ESP32 controllers and a cloud-based farm management application.
The hardware is the source of truth: the cloud sends desired control settings, while the ESP32 validates operating conditions and reports actual actuator states. Local automation continues during internet interruptions. The supplied November 2026 documentation describes production deployment in commercial poultry facilities in Bangladesh.
Problems addressed
- Heat stress and ammonia accumulation when ventilation is interrupted.
- Continuous manual supervision of brooders, heaters and exhaust fans.
- Fragmented mortality, feed, egg production and financial records.
- Dependence on internet connectivity for essential shed automation.

Sensor Layer
Environmental Sensors
DHT22 temperature and humidity · MQ-137 ammonia · LDR light · AC mains status
ESP32 Edge Controller
ESP32 Edge Controller
Local filtering, operating modes and safety evaluation; autonomous operation without internet
Physical Actuator Layer
Physical Actuators
Eight relay channels for fans, brooder, heater, fogger, sprinkler and siren
Cloud Backend & Authenticated Telemetry
Authenticated Cloud Telemetry
HMAC-SHA256 signed readings → Deno APIs → PostgreSQL → realtime dashboard
Farm Management Dashboard
Farm Dashboard & Operator Intent
Monitoring and farm records; desired settings return to the controller, which confirms actual states
Dashboard → ESP32: desired operator settings, subject to local safety validation.
The ESP32 remains responsible for local safety decisions and actual actuator states. Cloud settings represent operator intent, not confirmed equipment states.
Hardware & sensors
- 38-pin ESP32-WROOM-32 DevKit V1 with an eight-channel optocoupled relay bank.
- DHT22, MQ-137 and LDR sensors capture temperature, humidity, ammonia and ambient light; an optocoupler detects AC mains status.
- Three-position selector switches or parallel MCBs provide an electrical manual bypass; local setup uses an ESP32 captive portal.
Environmental monitoring
- Temperature, relative humidity, toxic ammonia, ambient light and device health monitoring.
- Heat Stress Index categorization, Bengali status badges and 10-hour environmental trend charts.
- Remote oversight of shed conditions and per-shed environmental alerts.
Automation & safety
- Automatic exhaust and circulation fans, brooder/heater control, fogger/sprinkler automation and minimum ventilation cycles.
- Eight documented invariants cover heat and ammonia purging, heater/fan exclusion, compressor dwell time, non-blocking OTA, boot pin checks, sensor fallback and siren triggers.
- Persistent AUTO/MANUAL selection, manual absolute control and local state-machine operation during connectivity loss.
- Signed telemetry, monotonic nonces and atomic command leases protect cloud-edge communication.
Cloud dashboard & farm operations
- Multi-farm monitoring with organization, farm and worker access boundaries.
- Sensor trends, device status, control settings, SMS/in-app alerts and firmware OTA management.
- Batch-scoped income and expenses, cost-per-kg analytics and Excel, PDF and CSV exports.
Broiler & Layer management
- Broiler brooding temperature curves, feed tracking and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) calculations.
- Layer egg production tracking and photoperiod schedules.
- Flock batches, mortality records and lifecycle management connect production records with batch financial reporting.
Production, hardware & demo
Production platform
The production websites provide cloud monitoring and farm management for connected facilities. This portfolio does not display live farm readings.
Physical hardware
Installed ESP32 controllers read sensors and operate shed equipment. Local firmware evaluates operating conditions and confirms actual relay states.
Browser-simulated demo
The /demo showcase uses browser memory for simulated sensor fluctuations, relay controls and role switching. It has no production database connection and cannot operate physical farm equipment.
